Rwanda National Rugby team, the Silverbacks continues training in preparation for the Rugby Africa Cup scheduled on 23rd November in Ivory Coast

A provisional squad of 45 players kicked off training on Wednesday 25th September,2019 at Gatenga Ground,

The 45 players will be trimmed to 22 to make the final  team which will travel Ivory coast on 20th November ,2019 to face Ivory coast in Rugby Africa Cup.

The squad was selected from all clubs across the league. “We had to give a chance to all the best players in the league, you can’t ignore all players from, for instance, Resilience, who have won all their games in the league so far this season,” said the Silverbacks The head coach Claude Aime Ezoua.

Ezoua  noted that the team trains three time a week Monday, Wednesday and Saturday the first weeks of training we focus on Fitness now we are workingon attck and defense tactical  before we face a team from United Kingdom for training and  warm match  in the beginning of November which will be a good test to evaluate our players and to pick out the best players.”Some play well for their clubs because they are used to each other, but here everyone they have to prove themselves.”

 

 

Rwanda Rugby

The Rwanda Rugby Federation (RRF) as the umbrella organisation that unites the entire rugby fraternity in Rwanda. RRF has been administering, developing and generally organising all rugby activities for 13 years now, not only through out Rwanda but on the continental level as well. The RRF has since grown further countrywide with over 600 active players, 60 female players, a robust fun club, ardent well wishers and intensive involvement in the development of the game in over 70 schools from all districts in Rwanda not to mention the RRF’s participation in community projects.
