Rwanda Rugby Federation at the 17th World Rugby General Assembly & Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.
The President of Rwanda Rugby Federation, Mr. Tharcisse Kamanda, is in London, England, representing Rwanda at the 17th World Rugby General Assembly, held on 24 September 2025 at the historic Guildhall.

The Assembly brought together leaders from 134 national federations to discuss the future of the game, with a strong focus on the new World Rugby Strategic Plan 2026–2031. Key themes included player welfare, women’s rugby and gender equity, leadership development, Safe Sport initiatives, and the future of international competitions. The strategy, built around iconic events, impactful investment, and strong leadership, aims to grow rugby’s global reach and ensure lasting impact.

Rwanda’s active participation reflects its commitment to contributing to rugby’s global vision while strengthening the sport’s growth and inclusivity at home. The Assembly coincides with the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 Finals Weekend, where Mr. Kamanda will join other global leaders to witness the third-place playoff between New Zealand and France, and the final between England and Canada on 28 September 2025.
