The reintegration of the Tumba College of Technology rugby team

The Tumba College of Technology is located in Rulindo district in Northern province.

Rugby was introduced there by some of the students who did some studies there and had played some rugby on high school level like SIBOMANA Alexis, since the college has only a two year program, it was a bit hard to maintain the team because most of the students did finish the to years and never came back because they lived far from the college. The team was among the competitive ones and was present is different 7’s and 15’s tournaments organized by the Rwanda Rugby Federation.

Then number of players decreased and therefore were not able to paticipate in tournaments for the last year. In order to reintegrate the team and increase the number of participating team in the National league as well as other rugby events. With the help of the friends of Rwandan Rugby, coaches are visiting and conducting some rugby coaching sessions on a weekly basis to make sure the team can participate in future activity. So far the results are positive and players are willing to get to the next level and are keen to learn new things, we believe to see them in the near future.
